Shelby is a sewist, sculptor, and writer.
She was born and raised across the rural and urban South.

Shelby is an award-winning writer for her community-centered art reporting. Their career has been rooted in the transformational power of experiencing art, both as a creator and viewer. Shelby believes in telling stories that embrace nuance, radical empathy, and curiosity.

She received her undergraduate degree in Writing and Communication at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She graduated with her MFA in Studio Art at Florida State University in the Spring of 2022.
